Nketiah capitalised on an Illan Meslier error to put the Gunners in front and added a second just 10 minutes into the Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Leeds suffered another massive blow when captain Luke Ayling marked the 500th appearance of his career by getting sent off for a reckless first-half lunge on Gabriel Martinelli with only 27 minutes played.

Diego Llorente pulled a goal back in the second half, but Arsenal moved four points clear of fifth-placed Tottenham and Jesse Marsch s side dropped into the bottom three after Everton won at Leicester City.

Kompany: Close title fights inspiring Manchester City

Vincent Kompany says he is using his experience of Premier League triumphs in 2011-12 and 2013-14 to help his Manchester City team-mates overcome Liverpool in this season s pulsating title race.

Pep Guardiola s side are two points behind Liverpool at the summit but do have a game in hand, against Manchester United a week on Wednesday.

While City won the title by a whopping 19 points last season, they required final-day victories to get their hands on the trophy in 2012 and 2014 ahead of United and Liverpool respectively.

And given the tight nature of this season s battle with Jurgen Klopp s side, Kompany says he his sharing his experiences of City s first two Premier League wins and not last season s procession to glory.

Today I would say it is a piece of s*** – Gabi eager to avoid Europa League

Atletico Madrid captain Gabi is desperate for his underachieving team to reach the knockout phase of the Champions League, claiming the Europa League is a piece of s*** in comparison.

Diego Simeone s side have been poor in Europe this season and are in danger of being eliminated from the Champions League, with Atletico s three-point haul in Group C significantly less than Chelsea on seven and Roma on eight.

The latest disappointment came in the form of a 1-1 draw at home to Azerbaijan s Qarabag on Tuesday and, with just two matches left to play, they look set to drop down into the Europa League.

Atleti won that competition in 2009-10 and 2011-12 and Gabi acknowledged the second of those triumphs, which he played in after returning from Real Zaragoza, gave him…

Guardiola: It´s time for Manchester City to struggle

Pep Guardiola insisted Manchester City are doing absolutely everything in tough circumstances as they fell further off the pace in the Premier League with a 1-1 draw against West Ham.

Phil Foden came off the bench to cancel out Michail Antonio s brilliant overhead kick but City were unable to force a winner as Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez spurned late chances.

A return of eight points from five matches is the club s worst start to a campaign since 2014-15, when they struggled as defending Premier League champions under Manuel Pellegrini.

Foden entered the action in place of Sergio Aguero, who sustained a hamstring injury having started three games in a week on his return from meniscus surgery.

Aguero was pressed into such frequent action due…

No goal or assist machines like Costa and Hazard – Lampard moves to calm Chelsea expectations

A 1-0 win over 10-man Fulham last weekend was the Blues first three-point haul since before Christmas and they are seventh in a Premier League table they briefly topped early in December.

Throughout the subsequent slump, when critics have highlighted a moderate return on considerable transfer investment, Lampard has pointed to the fact the likes of Kai Havertz, Timo Werner the Germany duo who have underwhelmed since arriving for a combined cost in the region of £125million and a host of other youngsters still have their best years ahead of them.

For now, though, he feels the …
